WINDOWS ME, 2000, XP DRIVER INSTALLATION

1.If you are plugging the external drive into your computer for the first time when using the USB interface, Windows will detect “USB 2.0 Storage Device” and install the USB mass-storage device class driver, which is built into Windows. If you are plugging the external drive into your computer for the first time when using the FireWire interface, Windows will detect “1394/USB Disk” and install the IEEE 1394 mass-storage device class driver, which is built into Windows.

2.If you are using the enclosure with a hard drive, your new drive will appear in the “My Computer” window as a standard Windows fixed disk. If you are connecting a CD, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD, or DVD-R, it will appear as a CD-ROM drive under “My Computer”.

Note: If you are using a hard drive with this enclosure, and the new drive does not appear in My Computer, you may need to partition and format the drive. Please refer to the “Partition the External Drive” section to prepare your Hi-Speed USB 2.0/FireWire hard disk.
