CLOSED USER GROUP: (CUG)
A subgroup of users on a network who can connect and communicate with each other. One or more members of the CUG can have access to the wider network.
This is a cable consisting of an inner core and an outer braid separated by a layer of insulation.

DISTRIBUTED COMPUTING / WORKING:
An arrangement where the processing power of a network is distributed between all the PC's on a network, rather than being centralised in a server or main frame.
DISTRIBUTED PROCESSING:
The way that information is shared between the PC's on a network. In a way, the computers share the work between them.
DUPLEX CIRCUIT:
A FULL DUPLEX CIRCUIT can transmit and receive data at the same time, A HALF DUPLEX circuit, can only send or receive data in one direction at one time. Also see SIMPLEX
ENTERPRISE NETWORK:
A term used for a private network linking sites and individuals within 1 organisation. This can take the form of certain WAN's.
