The CPU Features submenu configures certain features of the CPU in the system.

Menu Field	Options	Default	Description

SpeedStep(R)	• Disabled	[Enabled]	Enables or disables the SpeedStep Technology
Technology:	• Enabled		features.

On Battery:	• Maximum Performance	[Battery	Allows the user to select the CPU operational mode
	• Battery Optimized	Optimized]	when the system is running on battery power.
	• Automatic

On AC:	• Maximum Performance	[Maximum	Allows the user to select the CPU operational mode
	• Battery Optimized	Performance]	when the system is running on AC power.
	• Automatic

XD Bit	• Enabled	[Enabled]	Allows the user to enable and disable the Execute
functionality:	• Disabled		Disable Bit functionality. Execute Disable Bit allows
			the processor to classify areas in memory where
			application code can execute and where it cannot. In
			the event an internet worm attempts to insert code in
			the buffer, the processor disables code execution,
			preventing damage or worm propagation.
