2.7Applying Power via USB

The USB port on the common computers provides an output of 5V/500mA, equally 5V/2.5Watt, for the connected USB devices. With an USB DC power cable, the USB power is applicable to the devices and serves as a handy power, and eliminates the need for extra power adapters and occupation of limited AC power sockets.

One optional “USB DC power cable” is available for purchasing to supply power for the switch via USB connection.

To make the connection, the steps are:

1.Connect the USB “A” plug end of the cable to an USB High-power port for power source.

2.Connect power plug end of the cable to the device.

Notes:

1.The cable must be connected to USB High-power port for power source.

2.The power source maybe shared by other USB powered devices. Make sure it can deliver 500mA for the cable to the KTI network device.

3.When connected to an USB hub, the result is unpredictable, since other devices connected to the hub are sharing the limited DC power. When power is insufficient, the network device would operate incorrectly.

KCD-303P-B2, KCD-303P-B1, KCD-303P-A2, KCD-303P-A1 specifications

KTI Networks has established itself as a formidable competitor in the field of networking solutions, particularly with its series of ruggedized industrial Ethernet switches. Among their offerings, the KCD-303P series, which includes models KCD-303P-B2, KCD-303P-A1, KCD-303P-A2, and KCD-303P-B1, stands out for its remarkable features and capabilities designed for demanding environments.

The KCD-303P series switches are built to meet the needs of industrial applications, where reliability, robustness, and performance are crucial. These switches are equipped with 10/100Mbps autosensing Ethernet ports, allowing for seamless integration into existing networks. With a total of 5 ports available, including 4 PoE (Power over Ethernet) ports, the KCD-303P models can deliver both data and power to devices such as IP cameras, wireless access points, and VoIP phones. This capability reduces the need for additional cabling and simplifies the installation process.

One of the key features of the KCD-303P-B2, KCD-303P-A1, KCD-303P-A2, and KCD-303P-B1 is their adherence to IEEE 802.3 standards, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of network devices. Additionally, these models support VLAN and QoS (Quality of Service) features, enabling users to prioritize traffic and improve overall network efficiency.

The rugged design of the KCD-303P switches ensures they can operate in extreme conditions. With a wide operating temperature range, they are suitable for use in environments that experience significant temperature fluctuations, making them ideal for factories, outdoor installations, and less controlled settings. The compact metal housing not only provides durability but also enhances heat dissipation, ensuring optimal device performance.

In terms of power redundancy, the KCD-303P series supports dual power inputs, ensuring that the device remains operational even in the event of a power failure. This feature enhances reliability in critical applications where downtime can lead to significant operational losses.

Moreover, the switches come equipped with LED indicators that facilitate easy monitoring of connectivity and power status, making it simpler to manage and diagnose network issues.

In conclusion, the KTI Networks KCD-303P series, including the KCD-303P-B2, KCD-303P-A1, KCD-303P-A2, and KCD-303P-B1, are exceptional choices for industrial networking solutions. Their advanced features, robust design, and emphasis on reliability make them suitable for a wide range of applications, from manufacturing to transportation. With these models, KTI Networks continues to support industries in achieving efficient and reliable networking solutions.
