Speaker Connection Precautions

You can connect one or two sets of speakers (A/B) to the A-933, and select which set outputs sound, or use both sets at the same time.

Connecting one set of speakers (A or B): Only con- nect speakers with an impedance of 4 ohms or more but less than 16 ohms. If you use speakers with a lower impedance, and use the A-933 at high volume levels for a long period of time, the built-in protection circuit may be activated.

Connecting two sets of speakers (A and B): Only connect speakers with an impedance of 8 ohms or more but less than 16 ohms. If you use speakers with a lower impedance, and use the A-933 at high volume levels for a long period of time, the built-in protection circuit may be activated.

Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet before making any connections.

Read the instructions supplied with your speakers.

Pay close attention to speaker wiring polarity. In other words, connect positive (+) terminals to only positive

(+) terminals, and negative (–) terminals to only nega- tive (–) terminals. If you get them the wrong way around, the sound will be out of phase and will sound unnatural.

Unnecessarily long and very thin speaker cables may affect the sound quality and should be avoided.

• Be careful not to short the positive and negative wires. Doing so may damage the A-933.

• Don’t connect more than one wire to each speaker terminal. Doing so may damage the A-933.

Don’t connect a speaker to more than one pair of speaker terminals.
