2-6 Connecting Cables

This section provides brief descriptions and pin-out defi nitions for onboard headers and connectors. Be sure to use the correct cable for each header or connector.

For information on FP USB (USB 2, 3~4), please see Page 2-9.

For information on COM Port 1 and COM Port 2, please see Page 2-10.

ATX Main PWR & CPU

PWR Connectors

The 24-pin main power connector (JPW1) is used to provide power to the motherboard. The 8-pin Auxil- iary PWR connector (JPW2) is also required for the processors. These power connectors meet the SSI EPS 12V specifi cation. See the table on the right for pin defi nitions of these connectors.

8-Pin Auxiliary Power Connector

In addition to the ATX main power, the 8-pin 12V power connector located at JPW2 is also required to provide power to the South Bridge, North Bridge and all VRMs. See the table on the right for pin defi nitions.
