EZ SwitchTM 10/100 Mbps Auto-Sensing Switch

OVERVIEW

SMC EZ Switch™ 10/100s are dual-speed desktop network switches that are as easy to install and use as an ordinary hub, with the added dimension of dramatically improving network performance by offering speeds up to 200 Mbps per port. Moreover, every port features auto MDI/MDIX, providing added functionality and ease of use.

Designed for easy integration with any SOHO network, SMC EZ Switches contain added features like Store-and- Forward and Flow Control to ensure data delivery and network integrity. Since full bandwidth capability is achieved on each individual port, the congestion problems of shared hubs are easily avoided through the dedicated bandwidth of these switches. Powerful enough to run your network’s backbone, yet so easy they can be used in place of your desktop hubs, the EZ Switch™ brings the power of switching to you.

SMC-EZ6508TX, SMC-EZ6505TX specifications

The SMC Networks SMC-EZ6505TX and SMC-EZ6508TX are robust and highly efficient Ethernet switches designed for seamless network integration in various business environments. Both models offer a blend of essential features, advanced technology, and exceptional performance that cater to the increasing demands of modern networking.

The SMC-EZ6505TX is a 5-port 10/100Mbps Ethernet switch, while the SMC-EZ6508TX expands on this with 8 ports, making it ideal for both small and medium-sized networks. Each switch supports auto-sensing, allowing for a smooth transition between 10Mbps and 100Mbps connections, ensuring compatibility with existing network infrastructure. This flexibility provides users the freedom to connect a broad range of devices without compromise.

One of the standout features of the SMC-EZ6505TX and SMC-EZ6508TX is their plug-and-play capability. Users can easily install these switches without the need for complex configurations. Simply connect the devices to the appropriate ports, and the switches automatically detect and configure the connections, making them an excellent choice for non-technical users and busy IT departments alike.

Both models are equipped with Store-and-Forward technology, which enhances data integrity by minimizing transmission errors. This mechanism temporarily stores incoming data packets and checks for errors before forwarding them to their intended destination. This results in improved network efficiency, as it prevents the propagation of faulty data across the network.

Power efficiency is another strong point of the SMC-EZ6505TX and SMC-EZ6508TX, which comply with the Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) standards. This feature reduces power consumption during periods of low traffic, thus contributing to cost savings and a reduced carbon footprint.

In terms of build quality, SMC Networks has designed these switches to be durable and reliable. They come in a compact form factor that fits well in tight spaces, making them suitable for desktop, wall mount, or rack-mount installations. Moreover, they provide LED indicators for easy monitoring of port status and power.

In summary, the SMC Networks SMC-EZ6505TX and SMC-EZ6508TX Ethernet switches are essential tools for creating a stable and efficient networking environment. With their advanced features, including auto-sensing, plug-and-play operation, Store-and-Forward technology, and energy efficiency, they are reliable choices for any organization seeking to optimize its network infrastructure.
