Installing the Modem Driver
If you use Windows 2000 or newer, you must install the modem driver. If you use another operating system, see Appendix B.
When operating the modem under Windows, the modem driver can be installed by using the Plug and Play feature. Follow the procedure below.
1.Make sure your modem is connected properly, and then turn on your computer. Windows should detect your new modem and open the Welcome to the Found New Hardware wizard.
Note: If Windows cannot find a modem, your modem may be turned off, or it may be plugged into the wrong connector on your computer. See “Troubleshooting” in the User Guide.
2.From the Browse function in the Install Wizard, point to the Temporary folder you created on your local PC to store the driver that you downloaded from the
3.Windows installs and configures the modem.
4.Click Finish to exit.
