Understanding the 24-bit/192kHz Capability

Digital audio quality depends on bit depth and sample rate. Bit depth refers to how many bits of information are available to represent each sample, a factor that trans- lates to dynamic range. Sample rate is how many times per second the sound is sampled. The standard for today’s audio CDs is a sampling rate of 44.1kHz at a resolution of 16-bits per sample. The Revolution 7.1 supports sampling rates up to 192kHz and resolutions up to 24-bits—the highest available in both the professional consumer markets.
