NOTE: If you are using your Delta 1010 solely for optical transfers and do not need A/D or D/A capability, it is not necessary to connect the Delta 1010 rack mount unit. However, synchronization via MTC may be desired, and your Delta system will lose its MIDI function without the rack unit (see section, “Synchronizing Your ADATs”).

Hooking Up Your ADAT Optical Device

TOSLink is the name of the standard for optical cables, plugs, and jacks. Using two good quality TOSLink optical cables:

1.Plug one end of an optical cable into the TOSLink optical output jack of your ADAT (or other 8-channel ADAT optical capable device).

2.Plug the other end of your optical cable into the ADAT Optical “In” jack of the Delta 1010-AI.

3.Plug one end of the second optical cable into the ADAT Optical “Out” jack of the Delta 1010-AI.
