1.2 Connecting Internal SCSI Devices

Step 1. If you are connecting an internal SCSI device, plug the 50-pin connector cable on one end of the internal SCSI ribbon cable into the connector J2 (see Figure 1.3). The ribbon cable included in your SYM20810 host adapter kit is keyed to assure that it can be easily connected.

Step 2. Plug the 50-pin connector on the other end of the ribbon cable into the SCSI connector on your internal SCSI device.

Step 3. To attach more than one internal device, use a SCSI ribbon cable with the required number of 50-pin connectors attached along its length. Plug the cable connectors into the internal SCSI device connectors, as illustrated in Figure 1.3.

Step 4. Terminate the SCSI bus as described in the Section 1.2.3, “SCSI Bus Termination,” page 1-9.

Step 5. Make any required power connections to your internal SCSI device(s).
