For connection to Router, Bridge, or regular 100Base-X Hub, please refer to the device’s Technical Manual for respective bit-time delay.

Switch Hub Cascading and Long-Haul Connection

Theoretically, the switch hub breaks up the collision domain in hub cascading that you may up-link the hubs unlimitedly. In practice, the network extension (cascading levels & overall diameter) is limited by the timing requirement--time-out specification--of your application software and network operating system.

A hierarchical network with minimum levels of hub may reduce the timing delay between server and client station. If more than two hubs are connected in the same room, select one hub as Level 1 hub and connect all other hubs to it at Level

2.Server/Host is recommended to connect to the Level 1 hub. By following this approach, it will minimize the number of hubs in any one path and will improve network efficiency. (See Fig. 2-1)

The fiber switch(single mode transceiver) with single mode fiber can provide the long haul connection up to 15km per segment, you may extend the distance by cascading the switch and meet the timing requirement of your application software. Sum up all elements’ bit-time delay and the overall bit-time delay of wires/devices must be within 512 bit in a 100Base-X network segment (collision domain). The fiber cables and devices’ bit-time delay(round trip) is as below:

FSW-0800FXT, FSW-1600FXC, FSW-1600FXT, FSW-0800FXC specifications

The LevelOne FSW-0800FXC, FSW-1600FXT, FSW-1600FXC, and FSW-0800FXT are advanced industrial-grade Ethernet switches designed to meet the demanding needs of modern network infrastructures. Each model in the series emphasizes reliability, flexibility, and high performance, making them ideal for various applications in industrial automation, security surveillance, and networked communications.

The FSW-0800FXC is a compact 8-port switch featuring Fast Ethernet capabilities, which ensures seamless connectivity for devices in industrial environments. It supports both fiber and copper connections, offering a versatile networking solution that enables long-distance data transmission while minimizing electromagnetic interference. This model is particularly effective in environments where secure and robust communication is critical.

On the other hand, the FSW-1600FXT and FSW-1600FXC are 16-port switches that deliver even more connectivity options. They are optimized for larger networks, supporting higher bandwidth requirements while maintaining low latency. These switches can be configured for fiber-to-fiber or copper-to-fiber connections, making them adaptable to various cabling infrastructures. The FSW-1600FXT is specifically designed for applications that necessitate redundancy and high availability.

The FSW-0800FXT complements the series by providing another 8-port version that focuses on enhanced performance and redundancy features. With support for Power over Ethernet (PoE), it simplifies the networking of devices requiring external power, such as IP cameras and access points. This feature eliminates the need for additional power supplies, streamlining installations and reducing costs.

All models prioritize robust build quality suited for harsh environments, ensuring they can withstand extreme temperatures, vibrations, and dust. Additionally, these switches feature advanced network management options, facilitating remote monitoring and control. Their support for VLANs, QoS, and IGMP snooping optimizes network traffic and enhances overall efficiency.

With a combination of reliability, scalability, and ease of use, the LevelOne FSW series is an excellent choice for businesses looking to upgrade their network infrastructure. These switches are not only cost-effective but also future-proof, accommodating the growing demands of industrial connectivity and allowing for seamless integration with existing systems. As organizations continue to evolve and expand, the LevelOne FSW series stands out as a trusted solution for maintaining high-performance networks.
