Introduction

After you install the software and connect the SmartDisk FireWire CD-R/W to your computer, you can play back and record CDs. This Chapter describes how to:

Insert and Eject CDs

Play back or read CDs

Where to find information on how to record a CD

Types of CDs you can use, and

How to maintain your CDs.

Inserting and Ejecting CDs

To insert a CD:

1Press the Eject button located on the front of the drive (see Figure 4 on page 20). The CD tray pops open.

2Pull out the tray to allow for insertion of the CD.

3Insert the CD-R, CD-R/W, or CD-ROM so that the CD label is facing upward and the playable/recordable side is facing downward. Ensure the CD is snapped in securely.

4Push in the CD tray so that it closes.
