Cautions:

Use only fresh batteries of the required size and rec- ommended type.

Do not mix old and new batteries, different types of batteries (standard, alkaline, or rechargeable), or rechargeable batteries of different capacities.*

3.Close the cover.

When the SCP-98 stops operating properly, replace the bat- teries. To prevent stored stations from being lost, set STEREO/ MONO/TAPE to TAPE before replacing batteries.

Cautions:

If you do not plan to use the SCP-98 with batteries for a month or more, remove the batteries. Batteries can leak chemicals that can destroy electronic parts.

Dispose of old batteries promptly and properly. Do not burn or bury them.

To easily remove the batteries, open the battery compart- ment cover and pull up the ribbon.
