Base Station Modem

The Modem is connected to the PC as the base station. To set up this modem:

1.Connect the Modem to a free USB port on the PC using the supplied USB cable.

2.The Windows “Found New Hardware Wizard” will appear on the PC. Click the “Next” button to start the driver installation.

3.Depending on the version of Windows, select either the “Install from a specific list or location” or “Search for a suitable driver” option, then click “Next”.

4.Verify the MaxStream CD is inserted. Check “Search removable media (CD-ROM…)” or “CD-ROM drives” box, and then click the “Next” button.

5.If a “Windows Logo Testing” alert box pops up, click “Continue Anyway”.

6.Click the “Next”button again if necessary to accept the selected driver.

7.Click the “Finish” button.

8.Repeat steps 2 through 7 to install the next driver.

9.Connect the supplied antenna to the Modem.

Remote Station

Set up a 2635A-RF900 Serial RS-232 Modem and connect to the Hydra Data Logger as described in its own instruction sheet.

Operation

Start the Hydra software and turn the Hydra Data Logger power on.

Connect through the Hydra software as if using a standard RS-232 connection. Basic line-of-site range is approximately 1500 ft. (450 m). The range varies with antenna height.

The Modem will operate in its default factory setting as an accessory to the Hydra Series. Refer to the manufacturer’s instructions and supplied software for operating the Modem in other applications.

To reset the Modem to its factory settings, push the Reset Switch located on the Antenna-side of the Modem.
