Operation

POWER SWITCH

The POWER switch is located on the front panel of the amplifier. An internal lamp indicates when it is turned on.

Standard practice is to turn the amplifier on last and off first when switching components to prevent sending damaging tran- sients to the speakers.

It is possible to leave the power switch in the on position and switch the amplifier remotely through a power distribution block or preamp switched outlet. When doing so make sure the switch is rated for the current required by the amplifier.

LEVEL SETUP

The input sensitivity for each channel can be adjusted individually using the Level Controls on the front panel. Set up the amplifier Level Controls such that the amplifier clipping LED’s light occasionally when the source unit level control is turned up approximately 2/3 to 3/4 full on. Turning up the amplifier level controls any further than this will not make the amplifier any louder! It will only increase the noise floor (hum and hiss)

TA 1100 - SHORT CIRCUIT PROTECTION

In the event of a short in the speaker load or cables, the protection circuit will automatically shut down the amplifier and illuminate the red LED. When the short is removed, the red LED will turn off, and the signal will return to normal.

These amplifiers are recognized for their ability to deliver high-quality sound reproduction while maintaining user-friendly features.

The Hafler 1600 is a robust power amplifier, equipped with a high current output stage that can deliver a continuous power output of 200 watts per channel into 8 ohms. One of the standout features of the 1600 is its unique Dual Differential circuit topology, which minimizes distortion and improves the overall audio fidelity. The high damping factor of the amplifier ensures that it can easily control the motion of loudspeaker cones, leading to tight and accurate bass response.

The 1600 also boasts a thermal protection system, which safeguards the amplifier from overheating. This is particularly useful during prolonged listening sessions or high output scenarios. Additionally, its compact design allows for easy integration into various audio systems, making it a versatile choice for both audiophiles and casual listeners alike.

On the other hand, the Hafler TA1100 is a highly regarded preamplifier that complements the 1600 by enhancing signal clarity and control. The TA1100 features an advanced signal path design that includes high-quality capacitors and resistors, minimizing signal degradation. With multiple inputs, including both line and phono options, it caters to a wide range of audio sources, enhancing the user's listening experience.

This preamplifier is also known for its excellent RIAA equalization, which is essential for accurate vinyl playback. Its low noise operation ensures that the playback is free from hum and unwanted artifacts, allowing listeners to experience music as the artist intended. Moreover, the TA1100's easy-to-use layout and controls ensure that users can adjust settings seamlessly, without losing focus on their music.

Both the Hafler 1600 and TA1100 exemplify a commitment to quality sound reproduction, driven by innovative technology and user-centric design. Their combination of power, clarity, and reliability makes them esteemed components in any high-fidelity audio system, empowering listeners to immerse themselves in their favorite music with unparalleled fidelity and ease.
