Cabinet Discs Disc Cleaning Precautions

Cabinet

Wipe dirt from the cabinet with a soft dry cloth. For heavy dirt, wipe with a cloth moistened with synthetic detergent. Do not use thinner, benzene or alcohol, which could damage the surface finish.

Discs

Wipe dirt from discs using a soft cloth, from the center of the disc toward the outside.

For heavy dirt, moisten a soft cloth with water and wring it out before wiping, then remove the moisture with a dry cloth.

Do not use benzene, vinyl record cleaner or antistatic solutions that could cause scratches on the disc.

Disc Cleaning Precautions

Do not wipe recordable discs to clean them before recording data. Instead, use a blower to remove any dust.
