7.If you plan to connect your scanner to a USB hub1, make sure that the hub is connected to the USB port in your computer. Next, connect the scanner to the USB hub (see Figure 4, Step 6).

Note: If you do not have a USB port available, you might need to buy a USB port.

When possible, we recommend using the 4 foot (1.2 meters) USB cable provided with your scanner. If you wish to use a different USB cable, make sure that it is a fully rated twisted-pair USB
