Removing the Base Cover

1.Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer.

2.Remove the battery.

3.Perform the following steps:

a.Remove the screws that secure the base cover.

b.Pry the base cover towards the front of the computer and remove it from the computer.

NOTE: You may need a sharp tool to pry the base cover.

Installing the Base Cover

1.Insert the base cover into its slot until it clicks into place.

2.Tighten the screws to secure the base cover to the computer.

3.Install the battery.

4.Follow the procedures in After Working Inside Your Computer.

Removing the Optical Drive

1.Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer.

2.Remove:

a.battery

b.base cover

3.Perform the following steps:

a.Remove the screw that secures the optical drive to the computer.

b.Push the optical drive away to remove it from the computer.
