Removing the Display Panel Cable

CAUTION: Before you begin any of the procedures in this section, follow the safety instructions in the Product Information Guide.

NOTICE: To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such as a connector on the back of the computer).

NOTICE: To help prevent damage to the system board, you must remove the battery from the battery bay before you begin working inside the computer.

Removing the Display Assembly

1.Follow the instructions in Before You Begin.

2.Remove the Hinge Covers and the Center Control Cover (see Removing the Hinge Covers and Center Control Cover).

3.Turn the computer upside down and loosen the four captive screws along with the M2.5 x 5-mm screw. Remove the memory module cover.

4.Remove the Mini Card cables from the Mini Cards if applicable (see Wireless Mini Cards).

5.Make note of the cable routing and carefully dislodge the Mini-Card antenna cables from their routing guides.
