Between your Home and Office Computers

To ensure you are working on the master file, always edit and save the files directly to FireFly - the Master Drive. Do this whether you are at home or at work. This means you do not have to wonder if you are working on the right file or database; the content on FireFly is always the latest version.

Backup FireFly Frequently

Since this drive is the Master Drive, ensure your files and data can be recovered by making frequent backups. Copy essential files and data to removable media (such as CDs) or the hard drive on your home and work computer. Although not common, electrostatic discharge and shock (for example, dropping it on the floor) can damage your FireFly.

Tip

Macintosh users can automate this process using the CopyAgent

application found on the FireFly Software Installation CD.

Windows users can automate this process using the Retrospect

Tip Express Backup application found on the FireFly Software Installation CD.

Disconnecting

Remember to properly unplug FireFly from the computer. For more information, see Chapter 3.
