Mac OS Users

Any Macintosh with built-in FireWire port or a Power Macintosh G3 with a powered PCI 6-pin FireWire adapter

Mac OS 8.6 to 9.x, Mac OS X 10.1 or higher

A CD-ROM drive to install the software.

PC Users

A Windows-compatible PC with built-in 6-pin FireWire port or a powered PCI 6- pin FireWire adapter

Windows 98SE/Me/2000/XP

A CD-ROM drive to install the software.

Additional Software for Macintosh Users

The FireFly CD contains additional software for Macintosh users to help you work with FireFly.

SmartDisk Tools

SmartDisk Tools is a utility program for Macintosh computers used to prepare all SmartDisk FireWire hard disks and storage devices. The utilities in SmartDisk Tools are used to:

Format and partition FireWire devices such as FireFly. You can format them for DOS or Macintosh.

Test your FireWire device.

Add an extension (also called a driver) which allows your computer to detect and use FireWire devices.
