Interconnect cables

When installing your new Velodyne subwoofer using the line level connections, you should always use shielded phono cables. There are many decent cables available today, most any of which will work perfectly well. We do recommend that you keep the length of cable as short as possible to avoid any potential noise problems.

When using speaker level connections, use a decent quality speaker cable that mates well with the connectors. Be very careful to avoid any loose strands or frayed wires which may result in a short, possibly causing damage to your equipment. Cables of extremely large size are typically not required. Extremely large gauge wire may not properly fit in the binding posts, resulting in a poor connection and possible short circuits.

CHT-15 specifications

The Velodyne Acoustics CHT-15 is a remarkable subwoofer that embodies the brand's legacy of innovation and superior sound performance. Designed to deliver deep, thunderous bass, it is ideal for both home theater setups and high-fidelity music listening. The CHT-15 features a powerful 15-inch driver, which is engineered to produce accurate and impactful low-frequency sounds. This featured driver is capable of reaching frequencies as low as 18 Hz, effectively handling the most demanding audio tracks with ease.

One of the standout aspects of the CHT-15 is its use of advanced digital signal processing (DSP) technology. This ensures that the audio output is optimized for the specific acoustic environment, allowing for clear and precise sound reproduction without distortion. The built-in amplifier delivers 400 watts of continuous power, with dynamic peaks reaching up to 1000 watts. This ample power translates into impressive volume levels, ensuring that even the most action-packed movie soundtracks are dynamic and immersive.

The cabinet of the CHT-15 is designed with performance in mind, featuring a braced enclosure that minimizes vibrations and resonance. This construction enhances the overall sound quality, allowing for deep bass notes that are tight and well-defined. The subwoofer’s finish is both professional and appealing, allowing it to seamlessly blend into any home décor.

Connectivity options on the CHT-15 are versatile, including line-level RCA inputs as well as speaker-level inputs. This makes it easy to integrate the subwoofer into a wide range of audio systems, whether you're using it with a surround sound system or a high-end stereo setup.

Moreover, its patented "automatic room adjustment" technology measures real-time characteristics of the listening environment and adjusts the subwoofer’s performance to ensure optimal sound quality. This innovative feature sets the CHT-15 apart, making it a user-friendly option for those wanting professional-grade sound without the technical complexities usually associated with such systems.

In summary, the Velodyne Acoustics CHT-15 subwoofer combines robust engineering, cutting-edge technology, and outstanding performance features. Its powerful driver, advanced DSP capabilities, and thoughtful design make it a top choice for anyone looking to enhance their audio experience. Whether for cinematic thrills or musical enjoyment, the CHT-15 provides the deep bass necessary to make every listening experience as engaging and enjoyable as possible.
