CAUTION

Risk of equipment damage

To prevent damage from electrostatic discharge, always wear an antistatic wrist strap connected to an ESD jack.

DANGER

Risk of injury by electric shock

Before working on this equipment, be aware of proper safety practices and the hazards involved with electrical circuits. Use only power cords that have a grounding path. Ensure the switch is properly grounded before powering on the unit.

Procedure steps

Step Action

1Switch off the power supply.

See the following figure for the exact location of the power switches.

2Remove the filler panel from the power bay if necessary.

CAUTION

Save the power filler panel in case you need to operate the Ethernet Routing Switch 8300 chassis with a power supply removed.

3If you are replacing a failed power supply, remove the failed DC power supply.

4Grasp the handle of the new power supply.
