Insert
To insert a new segment into the current file
1.During playback, press REC•PAUSE.
2.Press 
/ 
to select INSERT and press PLAY•PAUSE to start recording. The newly recorded segment will be inserted from this point.
3.Press STOP to stop the recording of new segment.
Append
Append
The append function (add to recording) provides an easy way to edit a file when you are recording a list (e.g. a grocery shopping list). This enables you to add items to the end of a file.
To append voice data to the end of a file:
1.During playback, press REC•PAUSE.
2.Press 
/ 
to select APPEND and press PLAY•PAUSE to start recording. The recording will begin from the end of the currently seleted file.
3.Press STOP to stop the recording.
