Before connecting the scanner, be sure your computer is an IBM PC or compatible, run- ning Windows 2000, Windows ME, or Win- dows 98 or later, with a VGA or SVGA monitor, and having all of the following:

•one available USB port
•at least 32 MB RAM
•at least 160 MB free hard disk space (for installing supplied software)
Note: You cannot use the scanner with Mi- crosoft Windows 3.1 or Windows 95.
