1Enter the current password.

*Enter [12345] (factory setting) when you use this device for the first time.

2Enter a new password (4 to 10 characters) in 2 places.

3Enter a hint phrase (5 to 75 characters).

4Click [OK].

 

* Copy and Paste are disabled for password and hint entry.

When the [Password Security enabled successfully.] message appears, click

 

[OK].

Disconnect the device from the computer.

Password default settings are configured.

II Authenticating the Password to Use

Authenticate the password and prepare the device to read and write data.

1 Connect this device to the computer.

1 Enter the current password.

 

 

* Enter the password changed in section I.

2 Click [OK].

*If you enter wrong passwords 3 times, you can check the hint phrase you entered from the [Hint] button (for Windows XP/2000, when logged in with the administrator account only).
