If you see the Macintosh desktop

1.Press the Open/Close button of the CD-ROM drive to open the CD-ROM tray.

2.Place the CD Install Me First disc into the tray, with the disc label facing up.

Make sure the disc is lying flat in the tray.

3.Push the tray in, or press the Open/Close button, to close the tray.

4.Choose Restart from the Special menu.

5.Press and hold down the x, Shift, Option, and Delete keys.

6.As soon as the smiling Macintosh appears on your screen, release the keys.

Your Macintosh recognizes the CD as a startup disk, and in a few seconds the desktop below appears.

Although some parts of your screen may look different, the instructions in this section are correct.
