Sending a Fax > Manual Transmission

1. Insert your document(s) face down in the feeder.

(see image 5.1)

If you’re sending a multi-page document stagger the pages

2.Dial the fax machine number.

Pick up the handset or press the hook button before starting to dial. (see image 5.2)

On-campus number: 7-extention number (e.g., 7-7236)

Local number: 9-phone number (e.g., 9-753-6342)

Long distance: 9-<pause>-1-<pause>-<area code>- <phone number>-<pause>-<authorization number> (e.g., 9-<pause>-1-<pause>-435-797-6342-<pause>- <authorization number>)

When dialing an international number from anywhere in the USA, 011 must precede the number. (see image 5.3) (For example, if you were faxing the Fiji Islands, which has a country code of 679, you would first dial a 9, then,

011, then the country code 679, then the phone number.)

3.Once you hear the fax machine you’ve dialed an-

swer the call press the Start button.

4. Hang up the handset.
