1.INPUT: Use this 1/4” jack to connect your bass to the amplifier by means of a shielded instrument cable.

2.GAIN: Use this control to adjust the amount of distortion for the Distortion channel. As you rotate the control clockwise the amount of distortion increases.

3.SHAPE: Use this control to adjust the tone of the Distortion channel, from a studio “V”-shaped tone to a more “live,” more present sound.

4.LEVEL: Use this control to adjust the output level of the Distortion channel.

5.CHANNEL SWITCH: Use this switch to select either channel. With the switch in the out position, the Clean channel is selected. When the switch is depressed, the Distortion channel is selected. The adjacent LED illu- minates when the Distortion channel is selected. NOTE: When using a footswitch: when this switch is depressed, the footswitch switches between the Distortion channel and the Clean channel; when this button is in the out position, the Clean channel is always active, and the footswitch turns the Distortion channel on and off, allowing you a blend of both channels.

6.LEVEL: Use this control to adjust the output level of the Clean channel, and as part of the Octave level con- trol (see #11).

NOTE: The BT25/BT50 employs an internal noise gate to keep residual noise to a minimum. Regardless of which channel is selected, the Clean channel’s Level control (#6) must be turned up above “0” in order for the noise gate to trigger.

7.LOW: Use this control to adjust the low frequency output of the Clean channel.

8.LOW MID: Use this control to adjust the lower-midrange frequency output of the Clean channel.

9.HIGH MID: Use this control to adjust the upper-midrange frequency output of the Clean channel.

10.HIGH: Use this control to adjust the high frequency output of the Clean channel.

11.OCTAVE: The BT25/BT50 features internal circuitry which creates a second signal which is one octave lower than the input signal. Use this control in conjunction with the Clean channel’s Level control (#6) to adjust the level of the octave signal.

12.MASTER: Use this control to adjust the overall output level of the amplifier.

crate bass amplifier, bt25/bt50 specifications

Crate Amplifiers has long been recognized for producing high-quality sound equipment, and their BT25 and BT50 bass amplifiers are no exceptions. These models cater to bass players looking for powerful, versatile, and portable amplification solutions that can handle a variety of musical styles.

The Crate BT25 is a compact 25-watt bass amplifier designed for practice and small gigs. Despite its modest power rating, the BT25 packs a punch with its 10-inch speaker that delivers a full-bodied sound. It features a three-band EQ that allows musicians to sculpt their tone, making it easy to dial in the desired bass, mid, and treble frequencies. Additionally, the amplifier includes a built-in overdrive circuit, providing options for players looking to add grit and warmth to their sound without the need for external pedals.

On the other hand, the BT50 steps up the power with 50 watts, making it suitable for larger venues or louder practice sessions. This model also boasts a 10-inch speaker, ensuring a rich and dynamic audio experience. The BT50 shares many of the same features as the BT25, including a three-band EQ and built-in overdrive, but adds a few more bells and whistles. One notable feature is the headphone jack, which allows for silent practice, as well as an auxiliary input for jamming along with tracks from an external device.

Both amplifiers are designed with portability in mind; they are lightweight and feature a rugged construction, making them easy to transport and reliable for the road. The durable cabinet ensures that they can withstand the rigors of everyday use, while the sleek designs make them aesthetically pleasing in any setting.

In terms of technology, Crate has integrated a closed-back cabinet design in both the BT25 and BT50, enhancing low-frequency response and overall volume output. The amplifiers also come equipped with a built-in limiter, which helps prevent distortion and maintain audio clarity, even at high volumes.

Overall, the Crate BT25 and BT50 bass amplifiers provide excellent sound quality, versatility, and portability, making them a great choice for both novice and experienced bass players alike. Their combination of features, reliability, and user-friendliness ensures that musicians can focus on what they do best—creating outstanding music.
