13.CD INPUT: Use these RCA jacks to connect the line level (or headphones) output of a CD player, tape deck or rhythm machine to the amplifier. The signal level from these jacks is adjusted by the Master control (#12). If the signal from the source connected to these jacks is too strong, use the output level control on the source to adjust the signal to obtain the proper level for a good mix.

14.HEADPHONES: Use this jack to listen to the amplifier through a pair of stereo headphones. The internal speaker is disconnected when the headphones jack is used.

CAUTION: To avoid possible damage to your hearing, do not use head- phones for extended periods of time at extremely loud listening levels.

15.POWER: Use this switch to turn the amplifier on and off. The adjacent LED illuminates when the amplifi- er is turned on.

16. ELECTRONIC TUNER (top panel): This active electronic tuner is on whenever the amplifier is turned on, allowing you constant, “real-time” tuning. The tuner is fully chromatic – use the flat and sharp indicators until the LED between them illuminates, indicating proper tuning.

The Rear Panel (not shown):

17.AC LINE CORD: The grounded power cord should only be plugged into a grounded power outlet that meets all applicable electrical codes and is compatible with the voltage, power, and frequency requirements stated on the rear panel. Do not attempt to defeat the safety ground connection.

18.FOOTSWITCH: Connect a two-button footswitch (such as the Crate CFP-2) here for remote control of the channel selection/“blend” (see #5) and octave on/off. (When the Channel Switch [#5] is depressed, the footswitch switches between the Clean channel and the Distortion channel; when the switch is in the out posi- tion, the Clean channel is always active, and the footswitch turns the Distortion channel on and off, allowing you a blend of both channels.)

19.EXTERNAL SPEAKER: Use this jack to connect the amplifier to an external speaker cabinet (BT25 = 4 ohms minimum, BT50 = 8 ohms minimum). The internal speaker is disconnected when the external speaker jack is used.

crate bass amplifier, bt25/bt50 specifications

Crate Amplifiers has long been recognized for producing high-quality sound equipment, and their BT25 and BT50 bass amplifiers are no exceptions. These models cater to bass players looking for powerful, versatile, and portable amplification solutions that can handle a variety of musical styles.

The Crate BT25 is a compact 25-watt bass amplifier designed for practice and small gigs. Despite its modest power rating, the BT25 packs a punch with its 10-inch speaker that delivers a full-bodied sound. It features a three-band EQ that allows musicians to sculpt their tone, making it easy to dial in the desired bass, mid, and treble frequencies. Additionally, the amplifier includes a built-in overdrive circuit, providing options for players looking to add grit and warmth to their sound without the need for external pedals.

On the other hand, the BT50 steps up the power with 50 watts, making it suitable for larger venues or louder practice sessions. This model also boasts a 10-inch speaker, ensuring a rich and dynamic audio experience. The BT50 shares many of the same features as the BT25, including a three-band EQ and built-in overdrive, but adds a few more bells and whistles. One notable feature is the headphone jack, which allows for silent practice, as well as an auxiliary input for jamming along with tracks from an external device.

Both amplifiers are designed with portability in mind; they are lightweight and feature a rugged construction, making them easy to transport and reliable for the road. The durable cabinet ensures that they can withstand the rigors of everyday use, while the sleek designs make them aesthetically pleasing in any setting.

In terms of technology, Crate has integrated a closed-back cabinet design in both the BT25 and BT50, enhancing low-frequency response and overall volume output. The amplifiers also come equipped with a built-in limiter, which helps prevent distortion and maintain audio clarity, even at high volumes.

Overall, the Crate BT25 and BT50 bass amplifiers provide excellent sound quality, versatility, and portability, making them a great choice for both novice and experienced bass players alike. Their combination of features, reliability, and user-friendliness ensures that musicians can focus on what they do best—creating outstanding music.
