10 Base T | 10 Mbps baseband |

Cable Modem | Cable Modem is a device that allows high- |
| speed data access (such as to the Internet) via |
| a cable TV (CATV) network. |
| A cable modem will typically have two connec- |
| tions, one to the cable wall outlet and the |
| other to a computer (PC). |
Cable Provider | This is your Cable TV service provider. |
Cable Splitter | Metal interface that accepts single input and |
| divides it into multiple outputs. |
Coaxial Cable | A cable with high resistance to electrical inter- |
| ference. This medium is typically used by |
| cable television companies for video distribu- |
| tion. |
CAT 5 Ethernet Cable | Category 5 cable that connects Ethernet |
| based network using RJ45 connectors (already |
| installed on both ends of the Category 5 |
| cable). This cable is needed to connect the |
| Network Interface Card to cable modem. |
