	TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
SYMPTOM		CAUSE (AND REMEDY)
No power.		• Ensure the AC power cord is connected.
		• The unit is not turned on.
		• Remove any obstacles between the remote control and
			the unit.
		• Use the remote control near the unit.
The remote control does not function.		•	Point the remote control at the remote sensor on the
			unit.
		•	Replace all batteries in the remote control with new
			ones.
		• Make sure that you’ve selected DVD mode.
		•	The system is in pause mode. Press the PLAY button
			to return to normal play mode.
DVD		• Fast forward or fast reverse is performed. Press the
			PLAY button to return to normal play mode.
No sound or only a very low-level sound is heard.
		•	The DTS DVD cannot be decoded to have speaker
			output.
		• This unit is too hot. Shut off the unit for 30 minutes to
			allow it to cool down.
		• The region number of the disc doesn’t match the region
			number of this unit.
No picture
The picture is not clear		•	Clean the disc.
		• The disc is scratched.
Severe hum or noise is heard.		•	Clean the disc.
		•	There is no disc inside (“No Disc” appears on the
			screen).
		• Insert the disc correctly with the label side facing up on
			the disc tray.
The disc does not play.		•	Clean the disc.
		• A non-NTSC disc has been inserted. The unit and disc
			region number are incompatible.
		• Condensation may have formed inside the unit due to a
			sudden change in temperature. Wait about an hour for
			it to clear and try again.
TV
Snowy picture, multiple image, picture distorted,		•	Check antenna location, direction or connection.
picture blurred and noisy sound.
No color of picture.		•	Check the PICTURE SETTING in the TV SETUP
			MENU.
		• Not plugged into AC outlet.
		• Make sure that you’ve selected TV mode.
		• Try a new channel to check for possible station trouble.
No picture and sound.		•	Make sure the antenna is connected to properly.
		•	Increase the volume.
		• The antenna is broken.
		• Check for local interference.
Colored patches of picture.		• Magnetic interference from unshielded equipment.
		• Turn OFF the unit for 30 minutes, then turn ON again.
