Handling Discs

Handling precautions

When handling discs, be sure to observe the following precautions. If you do not handle discs properly, it can become difficult to read the signal from them, noise may be generated by the disc, or cause other malfunctions.

When removing the disc from its case, lift the disc out while holding the pressing the center of the case.

Be careful not to damage the disc.

Keep the signal surface (rear surface) of the disc clean, do not stick labels or sticky tape on the label surface of the disc.

Do not bend or warp the disc.

Storing discs

Always store discs in their cases to prevent dust, scratches or warping, and avoid storing them in the following locations.

Locations exposed to direct sunlight

Locations with high levels of humidity or dust

Locations exposed to high temperatures, such as near heaters or in a car

Cleaning discs

If dust or fingerprints appear on the signal surface of the discs, wipe them gently with a soft, dry cloth from the center of the disc to the edge. Do not wipe the disc along the circumference.

Never use record cleaner, record spray, thinner, benzine, or other solvents to clean the discs.
