Making connections

Cautions:

Check the terminals for position and type before making any connections.

Loose connections can result in image or color problems. Make sure that all connections are tight and secure.

The external audio/video equipment shown in these illustrations may be different from your equipment. If you have questions, refer to the user manual that came with your equipment.

Always turn the power off when connecting external equipment.

Connecting the power

To connect the power:

Plug the AC cord into an AC power outlet.

Notes:

Your TV should only be operated from the power source indicated on the label.

Always unplug the AC power cord from the AC power outlet when you will not be using your TV for an extended period of time.

Connecting an antenna or cable TV

To connect an antenna, cable TV, or satellite TV box:

1Connect one end of a 75 ohm cable (not included) to the RF OUT jack on the antenna or on the cable or satellite TV box.

Making connections

2Depending on the jacks available on the satellite TV receiver (set top box), connect a cable from the outgoing jacks on the satellite box to the corresponding jacks on the back of your TV. The connection can be to the HDMI, component video, S-Video, or AV jack.

3If you use a component video, S-Video, or AV cable, connect audio cables to the corresponding jacks on the back of your TV and on the staellite box.

4Turn on your TV, then press INPUT to select VIDEO mode for the type of connection you use.

5Select the channel you want with the remote control for the cable box.

Notes:

Use a 75 ohm cable to eliminate interference and noise from radio waves. Do not bundle the 75 ohm cable with the power cord or other cables.

If the antenna is not installed correctly, contact qualified service personnel to correct the problem.

To improve picture quality in a poor signal area, purchase and install a signal amplifier.

Connecting a cable TV or satellite box

If you subscribe to a cable TV service from a local provider you can watch cable TV programming. The TV cannot display TV programming unless a TV tuner device or cable TV converter box is connected to the TV.

For further information regarding cable TV service, contact your local cable TV service provider(s).

To connect to a cable TV or satellite TV box:

1Connect the incoming cable from the satellite wall jack to the SATELLITE IN jack on the satellite box.
