Audio CD and MP3 Operation (Continued)

Pause CD MP3

1Press PAUSE during playback.

2To return to playback, press PLAY or press PAUSE again.

Moving to Another Track CD MP3

Press SKIP/SCAN . or > briefly during playback to go to the next track or to return to the beginning of the current track.

Press SKIP/SCAN . twice briefly to step back to the previous track.

On an Audio CD, to go directly to any track, enter the track number using the numbered buttons (0-9) during playback.

Repeat Track/All/Off CD MP3

1To repeat the track currently playing, press REPEAT.

The Repeat icon and “TRK” appear on the menu screen.

2To repeat all tracks on a disc, press REPEAT a sec- ond time.

The Repeat icon and “ALL” appear on the menu screen.

3To cancel Repeat mode, press REPEAT a third time.

The Repeat icon disappears from the menu display.

Random CD MP3

1Press RANDOM during playback or when playback has stopped.

The unit automatically begins Random Playback and RANDOM appears on the menu screen.

2Press RANDOM during Random playback.

3To return to normal playback, press RANDOM repeat- edly until RANDOM disappears from the menu screen.

Intro Scan CD MP3

1Press INTRO during playback or when playback has stopped.

The unit previews the first few seconds of each track on a CD and “INTRO” appears on the menu screen.

After Intro scan previews all of the tracks, it stops.

If you want to play the track that Intro scan is pre- viewing, press INTRO (starts playing from the cur- rent track).

2To return to normal playback, press INTRO repeatedly until INTRO disappears from the menu screen.

3D Surround CD MP3

This unit can produce a 3D Surround effect, which simulates multi-channel audio playback from two conventional stereo speakers, instead of the five or more speakers normally required to listen to multi- channel audio from a home theater system.

1Press SOUND to select “3D SUR.” during playback.

2To turn off the 3D Surround effect, press SOUND until “3D SUR.” disappears from the menu screen.

Search CD

1Press and hold SKIP/SCAN . or > for about two seconds during playback.

The recorder will now go into SEARCH mode.

2Press and hold SKIP/SCAN . or > to select the required speed: mX2, mX4, mX8 (backward) or MX2, MX4, MX8 (forward).

Search speed and direction are indicated on the menu screen.

3To exit SEARCH mode, press PLAY.

Repeat A-B CD

To repeat a sequence in a title:

1Press A-B at your chosen start point.

Repeat icon and “A” appears on the menu screen.

2Press A-B again at your chosen end point.

The Repeat icon and “A - B” appears on the menu screen, and the repeat sequence begins.

3To exit the sequence and return to normal play, press A-B again.

The Repeat icon disappears from the menu screen.
