If you connect your VCR to a satellite tuner that has the Electronic Program Guide, the VCR will turn itself on, record, then turn itself off. First, read the owner’s manual of your satellite tuner; then, follow these steps to set up your VCR. Before you begin:

Set the program to

1 be recorded on the satellite tuner.

Use audio and video cables to connect the AUDIO/VIDEO IN jacks on the back of the VCR to the AUDIO/VIDEO OUT jacks on the satellite tuner.

Press the SPEED button to select the desired tape speed (SP, LP, or SLP).

Press the PLAY/o button or the STOP/p button to select DBS RECORD LINK. Then, press the F.FWD/B button so that ON appears beside DBS RECORD LINK. The menu shown below will appear. After 30 seconds, the VCR will turn itself off and the Timer light will appear on the VCR display panel.

Helpful Hints

To cancel the Auto DBS RecordLink recording, press the POWER button to turn on the VCR. The VCR sets DBS RECORD LINK to OFF auto- matically.

To stop an Auto DBS RecordLink recording that is in progress, press the STOP/EJECT button on the VCR.

If the preset time for an Auto DBS RecordLink comes up during a timer recording, the timer recording has priority.

If a program has copy guard pro- tection, it may not record clearly.

If noise appears on the TV screen when you view a program, connect the satellite tuner directly to the TV.

When you use this feature, the first few seconds of a program may not be recorded.

If your satellite tuner has the syn- chronized timer feature by the broadcasting time of a program, refer to the tuner’s owner’s manual.
