Using the Remote Control

Your VCR’s remote control is capable of controlling more than just your VCR. If you have compatible RCA, GE, or Proscan TV, you may be able to control it without any additional steps.

In order for the VCR’s remote control to operate a compatible RCA, GE, or Proscan TV, you must first press the TV button on the remote control. For example, if you wanted to change the TV’s channel, you would need to hit the TV button first to put the remote control in TV-controlling mode, and then press the CHAN up or down button. To rewind a tape in the VCR, you would first press the VCR button on the remote control to put it into VCR-controlling mode, and then press the REVERSE button.
