VCR Features

4.Press the FORWARD button to search forward or the REVERSE button to search in reverse. The VCR will locate your index mark and begin playback. If you did not enter a specific index number, the VCR will locate the next index mark and begin playback.

5.Press STOP to stop Index Search.

Notes– Certain index marks may be missed by the VCR including:

Marks too close to the current location of the tape.

Those at the beginning of a recording lasting five minutes or less.

Index marks that start at the beginning of the tape.

Zero Search

The Zero Search feature enables the VCR to quickly return to the 0:00:00 counter reading from anywhere on the tape. This is a convenient way to play a segment of the tape several times.

1.Cue a tape to the spot you wish to return to.

2.Press the CLEAR button twice to reset the counter to 0:00:00.

3.Continue playing the tape.

4.Press the STOP button.

5.Press the SEARCH button repeatedly until the ZERO SEARCH menu appears on screen.

6.Press the REVERSE button (REV on the VCR) to return to 0:00:00 on the tape.

7.Repeat as necessary.

Pro-Tect PlusLocking Feature

To disable VCR usage or to protect set timer recordings, the unit can be locked so that the buttons on the VCR or remote control don’t work.

To Lock: Press and hold either the remote control’s ON•OFF or VCR button until SAFE appears in the display to indicate Pro-Tect Plus is active. SAFE also appears if the VCR is turned on while the feature is activated.

To Unlock: Press and hold either the remote control’s ON•OFF or VCR button until SAFE disappears from the front panel display. Unlocking is the only way to use the VCR.
