Playing MPEG4 files

MPEG4 is the latest standard in video and audio compression. The audio on an MPEG4 disc is recorded in WMA or MP3 format.

With MPEG4 technology:

An entire DVD movie can be compressed to fit on one or two CD-Rs with good picture quality.

Several movies can be recorded on a CD-R with the picture quality of a VCD.

Several movies can be recorded on a DVD-ROM with the picture quality of a standard video DVD.

MPEG4 discs come in different formats, such as XVID, AVI, DIVX, and RM. However, not all discs that are labeled MPEG4 are recorded in an MPEG4 format. This means that your TV combo may not be able to play some MPEG4 discs.

Depending on the recording format, your TV combo may not be able to display subtitles.

Your TV combo supports the WMA format as a single audio file or the audio associated with a DIVX-formatted or XVID -formatted disc.

Your TV combo supports GMC (Global Motion Compensation) for DIVX5 files but not for XVID files. GMC enhances video quality.

Playbable discs

You TV combo can play discs that are 12 cm or 8 cm in size
