APPENDIX B: Programming the Universal Remote Control

The included universal remote control can operate up to four distinct devices. The TV button on the remote control has been pre-programmed for this Vivitek LCD-TV.

Instructions for programming a third party VCR, DVD, PVR, set top box, amplifier, etc.....

1.Turn on the device in question.

2.Press the button on the remote control that relates to the device to be programmed. (VCR, CBL, AUX).

3.Press and hold the SET button on the remote control until the red L.E.D. light flashes twice.

4.Enter the corresponding 5 digit device code from the list of available devices found in the back of this user manual. A correctly entered code will cause the red L.E.D. to flash twice after the last digit is entered.

5.Point the remote control at the device in question and press the red power button. If the device code is correct, the device will turn off. If the device code is not correct, repeat steps 2 through 4 and use the next code listed for the component and manufacturer.

Notes:

Some devices have multiple program codes. If the first device code fails to work, repeat steps 2 through 4 and select the next available device code for the component and manufacturer.

Some device codes may provide limited functionality. Entering an alternative device code for the same component and manufacturer may enable greater functionality.

There may be cases where the device in question may not have a device code in the remote control database. In these instances, this universal remote control will not be able to control the device.
