TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

If you experience any difficulties in operating this unit, please take the time to read the hints and tips shown in the troubleshooting guide below.

No signal from the Radio	Unit is not in Radio mode

Noise or sound distorted on AM	Station is not tuned properly for
or FM broadcasting	AM or FM
	FM: Wire antenna is not
	extended enough
	AM: Unit is not positioned
	correctly
FM STEREO indicator does not	FM signal not enough strong or
light	the station is not in stereo
	broadcasting
AM or FM no sound	Unit not at TUNER function AM
	or FM band
	Volume at minimum
CD/MP3 Player

CD Player doesn’t play	Unit not in CD mode

	CD is not installed or installed
	incorrectly

	Disc is non-standard
	Disc is not compatible with
	format
CD skips while playing	Disc is dirty or scratched

Slide the FUNCTION selector to Radio mode

Retune the AM or FM broadcast station

Extend FM wire antenna

Reposition the unit until the best reception is obtained

Extend antenna or find another FM stereo station

Slide the BAND selector to select AM or FM band Increase the volume level

Slide the FUNCION selector to CD mode

Load a CD; check that the CD is placed in the tray with the label side uppermost

Use correct disc

Change compatible CD format

Wipe disc with soft dry cloth or use another disc

No sound	Function selector is not at
	RADIO mode.
	Volume at minimum
Sound distorted	Head is dirty
Speed varies	Tape old or worn
	Dirty roller and capstan
Can’t be recorded	Record protection tab removed

Distorted sound on playback	Defective tape or dirty tape head

Slide the Function selector to Radio

Increase Volume Clean the head Replace the tape Clean roller and capstan Attach adhesive tape over the tab opening

Replace tape or clean tape head
