If you have not yet entered any programs, the TV displays the program entry menu when you press PROG.

8.Use SEL s/t to select the date when you want to record.

To record a program at the same time on the same day every week, press either but- ton until the TV displays WEEKLY and the desired day of the week.

To record a program at a set time today, press either button until the TV displays TODAY and today’s date.

To record a program at a specific time and date, press SEL s/t to select the specific date.

Press SET to enter your selection.

9.Use SEL s/t to select the start hour. When the correct hour appears, press SET. Then use SEL s/t to select the minute, and press

SET.

10.Repeat Step 9 to set the end time.

11.Use SEL s/t to select the channel.

To record from a source connected to the

AUDIO 1/VIDEO 1 IN or AV2 jacks, press

SEL s/t until the TV displays LINE 1 or

LINE 2.

12.Use SEL s/t to select the tape speed (SP, LP, or EP).

13.Double-check all the set information.

If the information is correct, press PROG.

If an entry is not correct, press SET or CLEAR to move the cursor to the wrong entry, enter the correct information, then press PROG.

Note: The TV displays PROGRAM IS INCOMPLETE if you did not correctly enter a timer program before pressing PROG. Check and correct the program, then press PROG again.

The TV displays the timer program set- tings. To enter more programs, use SEL s/t to select another program number and repeat Steps 7–13.

14.Press PROG again. The TV briefly displays

TURN VCR OFF FOR TIMER RECORD- ING.

15.Press POWER to turn off the VCR. The VCR displays TIMER.

Notes:

Be sure that the VCR displays TIMER when you turn it off. If it does not appear, check your programming.

If you insert a cassette with its erase- protection tab removed and set the VCR’s timer, the VCR ejects the cassette and flashes TIMER on the display.

If you set up the VCR to record a cable program through a cable box, be sure to leave the cable box turned on and tuned to the desired station before the timer pro- gram starts.

You can manually turn on and operate the VCR before the set times, but the VCR starts an automatic timer recording only if the power is off at the set start time.
