DESCRIPTION

RackRider's newest line of graphic equalizers have the features and performance you need for any sound reinforcement, room equalization, or recording application.

The single-channel RR-131 and dual-channel RR-231 divide the audio frequency spectrum into 31 bands, each spaced 1/3 of an octave apart, while the dual-channel RR-215 divides the spectrum into 15 bands, each spaced 2/3 of an octave apart. The actual center frequencies chosen are those designated as standards by the ISO. Each slider allows

an EQ adjustment of ±6 dB or ±12 dB, depending on the setting of the Range switch.

All models are built using compact 20 mm sliders, allowing a full set of 30 or 31 sliders to fit in only a single rack space. Though small, the sliders are of high quality and have a smooth, silky feel. They are center detented for quick, reliable identification of the zero setting.

Because the exact EQ setting chosen may alter the program’s overall loudness, Level controls are provided. These are sliders which allow trimming the gain over a 10 dB range. An LED Clip light glows if the audio signal has exceeded the maximum output level (i.e., an overload condition exists), in which case the Level slider can be reduced to avoid distortion.

Pushbuttons are provided on each channel for Bypass, allowing an instant comparison of the sound with EQ in or out. A yellow LED glows when the EQ is bypassed.

All models feature extra control of extreme lows and highs. The RR-215 has High Pass buttons which cut lows below 40 Hz, and Low Pass buttons which cut highs above 16 kHz. The RR-131 and RR-231 provide adjustable controls for High and Low Pass, allowing the cutoff frequencies to be set anywhere from 10 to 250 Hz, and 3 to 50 kHz, respectively. The High Pass function is particularly useful in avoiding power-gobbling rumble in systems not designed to reproduce extreme lows.

For ease of hookup, any of three types of connections may be used for each input and output: XLR (balanced), 1/4" TRS phone (balanced or unbalanced), and RCA

RR-215, RR-131, RR-231 specifications

Furman Sound has long been recognized for its cutting-edge power management equipment, and the RR series, including the RR-231, RR-131, and RR-215, exemplifies this legacy. These rack mount power conditioners are designed to meet the unique needs of audio and visual professionals, providing reliable power management along with advanced protection features.

The Furman RR-231 is lauded for its impressive capabilities in power filtration and management. It features a robust voltage regulation system that ensures consistent power delivery, protecting sensitive equipment from voltage spikes and drops. This model includes a series of AC outlets, allowing users to connect multiple devices while using sophisticated surge protection to eliminate the risk of damage during power surges. The RR-231 also incorporates Furman’s unique Linear Filtering Technology (LiFT), which ensures that any noise generated from other electronics in the same power circuit is minimized, resulting in cleaner power and improved audio fidelity.

On to the RR-131, this unit strikes a balance between functionality and affordability. It comes equipped with essential features that make it a valuable addition to any professional setup. The RR-131 includes a built-in digital voltmeter, providing users with real-time feedback on their power supply, which is crucial for monitoring electrical health in performance and studio situations. Furthermore, the unit also supports eight outlets for easy connections and has an LED indicator for power status, ensuring users can quickly ascertain the condition of their equipment.

The RR-215 model represents the high-end of the Furman lineup, and it boasts an impressive array of features. It is particularly praised for its advanced technology such as AC line filtration which significantly reduces electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI), providing a cleaner power signal. The RR-215 also includes a programmable sequencer, allowing users to queue their equipment to power on and off in a specific order. This is particularly beneficial for preventing loud pops and thumps that can occur from equipment powering on simultaneously.

In summary, Furman Sound's RR series power conditioners—RR-231, RR-131, and RR-215—are engineered to deliver exceptional performance, protection, and convenience. With features like linear filtering, digital voltmeters, and programmable sequencing, these models provide audio professionals the security and reliability they need for their critical applications. Whether for live performance, studio recording, or installation, the RR series ensures that equipment operates at peak performance while safeguarding against power-related issues.
