General Settings(continued)

To Cancel Progressive Scan If you enable Progressive Scan accidentally, the picture will be distorted. To reset the unit:

1Remove any disc or tape in the unit.

2 Press and hold the STOPbutton for

5 seconds.

Playback Control (PBC)

PBC stands for Playback Control and refers to special menus and navigation features available on some Video CDs.

1Press SETUP.

2Select “GENERAL” > “PBC” .

3Set PBC to “ON” (Video CDs are played according to the PBC, if available), or “OFF” ( Video CDs are played the same way as Audio CDs).

Power Save Mode

Sets the DVD Recorder+VCR to an economical power saving mode.

1Press SETUP.

2Select “GENERAL” > “Power Save

Mode” .

3Turn Power Save Mode on or off.

Factory Settings

Restores the DVD Recorder+VCR to its original factory settings.

1Press SETUP.

2Select “GENERAL” > “Factory Set” >

“SET” .

3Select “Yes” and press ENTER.

All menu settings will be restored to their factory defaults.

Some settings cannot be reset, in- cluding the Parental Control, Pass- word, and Area Code settings.
