There are two methods of copying a tape from Deck 1 to Deck 2: HQ1 (High Quality 1) and HQ2 (High Quality 2). HQ1 is best if your source tape is recorded in SP. HQ2 is best if your source tape is recorded in LP or SLP. The Auto setting will make this choice for you.

Open “Setup Menu”

Press and hold the Menu button for 3 seconds.

Select “Copy/Record Settings”

Press 2.

Set “Copy Mode”

Press 1 repeatedly to set Copy Mode to:

Auto — Automatically sets the Copy Mode.

HQ1 — High Quality 1. Best if source tape is in SP.

HQ2 — High Quality 2. Best if source tape is in LP or SLP.
