Using the remote control to operate a VCR or cable TV converter

¥If you have a non-Toshiba VCR or cable TV converter, you must first program the remote control to recognize your VCR or converter brand (see pages 13Ð14).

¥To use your TV remote control to operate a VCR, set the TV/CABLE/VCR switch to VCR. The shaded buttons in the picture below will then operate the VCR instead of the TV.

¥To use your TV remote control to operate a cable TV converter, set the TV/CABLE/VCR switch to CABLE. The shaded buttons shown in the picture below will then operate the converter instead of the TV.

Press to directly access channels (as opposed to the Channel s/tbuttons).

TV/CABLE/VCR Switch

Set to CABLE to control the cable converter; set to VCR to control the VCR.

TV/VCR

To view one program while recording another, press to select TV mode.

REC

Starts tape recording.

SLOW

In play mode, press to view a slow-motion picture.

PAUSE

In play or record mode, press to freeze the picture; press again to release.

Stops the tape.

Begins tape playback.

FF

Fast-forwards the tape.

In play mode, press to view the picture moving rapidly forward.

REW

Rewinds the tape.

In play mode, press to view the picture moving rapidly backward.
