Using the S-VIDEO OUT or the COMPONENT VIDEO OUTPUT jacks and the ANALOG AUDIO OUT jacks

If your TV has an S-Video or a Component Video input jack, use either an S-Video cable (to connect the S-VIDEO OUT jack) or a Component Video cable (to connect the COMPONENT VIDEO OUTPUT jacks), and an Audio Cable (to connect the ANALOG AUDIO OUT jacks).

-S-Video connection provides the good quality picture.

-Component connection provides the better quality picture.

1)Follow steps 1 and 2 on page 24.

2)Connect S-VIDEO OUT or COMPONENT VIDEO OUTPUT jacks of this unit to the S-Video or Component Video input jacks of your TV. Use a commercially available S-Video cable or Component Video cable.

3)Connect the ANALOG AUDIO OUT jacks of this unit to the analogue Audio input jacks of your TV. Use a commercially available Audio cable.

Connecting to external equipment

This unit has four input terminals, AV1, AV2 or AV3 on the rear panel and AV4 on the front panel. Be sure that all the units are off before making connections.

Note

• If the external equipment connected to the AV2 jack

supplies control voltage to this unit via Pin 8 of the Scart

cable, the display functions (e.g. P01) of the remote

control cannot be seen on the TV connected to the AV1.

In this case, turn off the external equipment to prevent

control voltage.

This unit has no RF modulator, so this type of TV cannot be used.

Only component connection is compatible with the Progressive Scan.
