The preset items appear in the display sequentially.

10 Press SYSTEM POWER to turn off the system.

At the preset time, the power will go on at the preset time and the music will play. At the turn-off time, the power will go off again.

To change the preset timer settings

Start over from step 1.

To check the preset timer settings

1Press TIMER.

2Press TIMER SELECT and use the JOG dial to choose the mode you want to check.

3Press ENTER/NEXT.

The preset items appear in the display sequentially, then the original display returns.

To change the timer

Select the timer display you desire in step 2 of “To check the preset timer settings”.

To cancel the timer

1Press TIMER.

2Press TIMER SELECT and use the JOG dial to choose “TIMER OFF.”

3Press ENTER/NEXT.

The next time you want to use the timer, select the timer display you used in step 2 (DAILY 1 or DAILY 2) and press

ENTER/NEXT.

Timer-Recording Radio Programmes

You can set the timer to record from the radio at a certain time. This timer works only once for each setting. The volume level is automatically set to MIN.

You can record with a Sony MD recorder with AU BUS.

Be sure to connect the MD recorder to the AU BUS jack.

Make sure the clock has been set correctly.

1 Press TUNER/BAND repeatedly until the band you want appears in the display.

2 Press TUNING MODE repeatedly until the PRESET indicator lights up.

3 Use the JOG dial to tune in a preset station.

4 Press TIMER.

6 Use the JOG dial to select REC and press

ENTER/NEXT.

11 Prepare the recording equipment.

To record on a tape

Insert a tape into deck B.

If necessary, select the direction mode and Dolby NR.

To record on a mini disc

Insert a mini disc into the MD recorder.

12 Press SYSTEM POWER to turn off the system.

The power comes on 15 seconds before the preset time and the volume is automatically set to MIN.

Note

•The timer operation actually starts 15 seconds before the timer ON time. If you perform another operation at during period, the timer operation may not be performed correctly.
