Connecting to an HDMI jack

If your AV amplifier (receiver) has an HDMI input, use this connection. You can enjoy higher quality sound from the connected AV amplifier (receiver).

To enjoy 7.1 channel sound, use a High Speed HDMI cable.

If you connect a Sony AV amplifier (receiver) that is compatible with the “Control for HDMI” function (page 16), refer to the operating instructions supplied with the AV amplifier (receiver).

1 Connect the HDMI OUT jack of the player and your AV amplifier (receiver).

2 Set “BD Audio Setting” to “Direct” in the “Audio Settings” setup (page 45).

Check the following settings:

“Audio Output Priority” is set to “HDMI” in the “Audio Settings” setup (page 44).

“Audio (HDMI)” is set to “Auto” in the “Audio Settings” setup (page 44).

To enjoy the secondary audio (commentary), set “BD Audio Setting” to “Mix.”
